PEAK Devs Possessed Bing Bong to Talk to Players
Invaded Publicly Shared Streams

After long-running fan speculation, PEAK devs Aggro Crab confirmed that they really were talking to players through the in-game plush item Bing Bong (at least for the first 2-3 weeks of the game’s release). The devs said that they only invaded publicly shared sessions, like in livestreams, and then dropped the feature in mid-June.
Players took on the role of a group of marooned nature scouts, and in the crash site, theycould find the equipment item Bing Bong, a plush for a mascot of the aptly named BingBong Airlines. For the first few weeks of PEAK’s release, a few streamers and content creators reported Bing Bong "becoming sentient" and had started talking to them. Some players were jumpscared by the somehow natural-sounding green talking plush and threw him into the ocean before eventually settling to strap him along for the journey. In other instances, streamers would ask Bing Bong to say "ally" in reference to June being Pride Month.

"It was a really funny way to give creators a wild experience in the first few weeks of us releasing PEAK," admitted the devs in a YouTube short on their official YouTube channel. "It was really funny and a great way to connect with the community."

Bing Bong Ditched

The devs also confirmed in a Steam community chat that the feature they used to possess Bing Bong was used sparingly on streamers and was removed early on.
"We don’t have back-end access to all players games, therefore I can assure that we did not and could not enter any private games," reassured one of the devs named Neo Solarius. "You needed to be publicly streaming live or another way where we could view your current live game for us to gain access."

While Bing Bong has already lost his "sentience", players can still bring him along on their journey for a fun surprise.
PEAK was released on June 16, 2025, for the PC (Steam). To stay up to date with the latest information on the game, check out our article below!
