After years of development, Path of Exile 2 has finally come up with a substantial update that fans across all platforms will be glad to hear; Early Access by the start of 2024. During the State of Play, it was confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 5.
Couch Co-Op, CrossPlay, Cross-Progression, and More New Features!
Alongside the announcement of Early Access coming in 2024, the State of Play trailer unveiled exciting new gameplay features. These include couch co-op, which allows two players to team up as long as they have separate Path of Exile 2 accounts, and crossplay, enabling you to play with friends on different platforms. Plus, you won't lose progress thanks to cross-progression!
Path of Exile 2 boasts twelve character classes, each with its own distinct attributes. With two options available for every combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence, players have the freedom to craft their own unique builds by blending skills from different classes. This results in a staggering choice of 36 Ascendancy Classes.
Moreover, the game introduces a new Skill Gem system, featuring over 240 Skill Gems offering a diverse range of active skills, complemented by 200 Support Gems that modify their functions.
With a pool of 1500 skills to unlock, players can shape their Passive Skill Tree according to their preferences.
Dive into battle with over 700 unique equipment bases, including weapons, to confront hundreds of distinctive bosses.
The adventure doesn't end with the completion of Path of Exile 2's six-act campaign; players can access its endgame, which unveils over 100 new maps teeming with unique bosses and surprises.
Path of Exile 2 Will Still be Free-to-Play!
Similar to its predecessor, Path of Exile 2 will remain free to play. Developers will consistently expand updates for both games, and purchases will be shared between the two.
