Palworld Dating Sim Game Announced
An 18+ Version is Coming
The official Palworld Twitter (X) Account recently unveiled a new trailer for their "new game" Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~. This new dating sim game will apparently allow players to either "remain friends or fall in love? Or dismantle and eat them…"
Adding to this, the announcement also confirmed that Pocketpair is working on an "adult version" of the game. However, the post wrapped up by assuring players that the game announcement is just a joke and is all in good fun for April Fool's Day, ending in a "#aprilfoolsday."
Interestingly enough, Pocketpair confirmed at the end of their post that "there will be an update for Palworld coming soon."
The released trailer forPal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~ playfully lampoons high school romance visual novels by placing Pals in a school setting. It showcases various Pal characters available for romantic pursuits within the game, including Katress, the enigmatic transfer student wielding mysterious powers; Chillet, a bashful and reserved young lad; Lovander, the smooth-talking flirt. Surprisingly, even humans from Palworld make their way into the mix, with Zoe embodying the tough and fiery archetype, while Blacker Marketer assumes the role of the cunning student council schemer.
Each of these iconic Palworld characters transforms into popular archetypes and tropes commonly found in dating sim games. For instance, Zoe assumes the role of the "tsundere," who exhibits a tough exterior while harboring affection underneath, while Katress embodies the "yandere," trope displaying an obsessive fixation on the player. Funnily enough, the game will have a scheduled "release date" on April 1, 2025, which is, of course, a playful tongue-in-cheek joke for April Fool’s Day.
The post orchestrated by Palworld has generated significant traction, amassing over 1.5 million views, accompanied by 26 thousand likes and 6 thousand reposts on Twitter (x). Engaged fans swiftly embraced the jest, actively participating in the joke and with some fans wishing it was real.
Notable responses include @SirLazyCat's playful "OnlyPals" remark and Twitch Streamer TECTONE's commitment to embark on a marathon gaming session, vowing, "I will be playing on launch for 24 hours straight."
Amidst the laughter, one observant fan couldn't help but point out the timing faux pas, noting, "but… April Fools' Day is tomorrow…." Palworld demonstrated their wit by responding with a clever retort, "Early bird-pal catches the worm-pal."
why cant this be real...
