Palworld Mod Brings Unreleased Pokemon Look-Alikes to the Light of Day

Only Obtainable Through Breeding

Image

As reported by Callum Smith from news outlet VideoGamer, a Palworld modder by the name of "ShameIHaveNoFriends" has made the infamous Pokemon-look-alike Pals that have been hidden in the game’s files since its release! Though they didn’t explicitly make them spawn in the wild, they are easily obtainable by breeding the right combination of Pals! The modder has also taken to lengths and assigned them specific moves they can learn as they level up.

The three Pals in question are Dragostrophe, DarkMutant, and Boltmane, who are unreleased Pals that have never been encounterable in-game and were only discovered through hidden files. Only Dragrostrope has ever been officially presented by the Palworld developers Pocketpair in their reveal trailer back in 2023.

This isn’t the first time modders have added Pokemon-inspired content into Palworld. Most notably, a modder implemented actual Pokemon models into the game, only to be immediately struck down and made to change to "legally distinct" variations.

The Pokemon and Palworld connection has been prevalent since way before the game’s release, originating from their first announcement trailer being released with the tagline "Pokemon, but with guns." Palworld itself has been subject to a lot of skepticism due to most of their Pals ‘coincidentally’ looking very similar to numerous Pokemon.

As we go through each Pal modded in, we’ll see which Pokemon they look the most similar to and can see why they were most likely kept unreleased.

Dragostrope

Dragostrope, being the only one officially shown in anything associated with Pocketpair, looks very similar to the Gen 5 Legendary Pokemon Zekrom, as seen from the pictures above.
Using the mod, Dragostrope can be obtained by breeding Quivern and Dazzi together.

It will learn the following moves at the following levels:

 ●  Level 1 = DarkBall
 ●  Level 7 = Spirit Flame
 ●  Level 15 = Dragon Cannon
 ●  Level 22 = Dragon Burst
 ●  Level 30 = Draconic Breath
 ●  Level 40 = Dark Laser
 ●  Level 50 = Dragon Meteor

BoltMane (Electric and Fire Type)

Boltmane was first discovered to be an Electric-type but was later seen to be altered into a fire type. This might have been due to the very close similarities with the Electric-type Pokemon Luxray, as seen from the images above.

Boltmane’s Electric variation can be obtained by breeding Jolthog and Univolt, while its Fire variation can be acquired by breeding Bushi and Kelpsea Ignis.

The Electric-type Boltmane will learn the following moves at the following levels:
 ●  Level 1 = Spark Blast
 ●  Level 7 = Shockwave
 ●  Level 15 = Electric Ball
 ●  Level 22 = Plasma Tornado
 ●  Level 30 = Lock-on Laser
 ●  Level 40 = Lightning Streak
 ●  Level 50 = Lightning Bolt

The Fire-type Boltman will learn the following moves at the following levels:
 ●  Level 1 = Ignis Blast
 ●  Level 7 = Spirit Fire
 ●  Level 15 = Flare Arrow
 ●  Level 22 = Ignis Breath
 ●  Level 30 = Flare Storm
 ●  Level 40 = Ignis Rage
 ●  Level 50 = Fire Ball

Dark Mutant

Dark Mutant seems to be a placeholder name for the unreleased Pal, as it’s very generic compared to the other released and unreleased Pals. It bears a very striking resemblance to the clone Pokemon, Mega Mewtwo Y as seen from the photos above.

Dark Mutant can be obtained by breeding Lunaris and Nox together.

It will learn the following moves at the following levels:
 ●  Level 1 = PoisonFog
 ●  Level 7 = DarkBall
 ●  Level 15 = Shadow Burst
 ●  Level 22 = Spirit Flame
 ●  Level 30 = Nightmare Ball
 ●  Level 40 = Dark Laser
 ●  Level 45 = Psycho Gravity
 ●  Level 50 = Dark Whisp
