Oblivion Remastered players are still waiting for a new patch, a month after the game’s release. Read on to learn more about what fans want to see in future updates and why console players need the patch more.
Oblivion Remastered Has Yet to Have a Patch
Fans Are Looking for an Update
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been out for over a month now, but developer Bethesda has yet to give fans an update on patches. Due to their dead silence, Reddit users have expressed their anxiety and pointed out things that they want to see fixed or added.
It is important to note that Bethesda has released a hotfix for the game three days after its launch, which unfortunately brought new issues of its own. Based on numerous reports, the hotfix removed upscaling options. This was addressed on a subsequent patch, but some said that it needed a tedious workaround for the upscaling to take effect.
Beyond those mentioned, players have hung dry waiting for new updates, especially since the game is still riddled with bugs. One major issue is with the Kvatch bug, where players are soft-locked into the quest, unable to proceed further. The community has found a quick workaround for this, but the developers themselvesstill have yet to address the matter.
Despite the lack of updates, fans are hopeful that Bethesda will drop a patch soon, as they have been dead silent for around a month. Some fans listed down their wishes in future patches, such as inventory subcategories, improved shortcuts for controllers, and more.
Consoles Need It More
Fans' outcry for an update is warranted, but console players need more fixes. As reported last week, PlayStation and Xbox releases of the game suffer from performance issues the longer you play them.
According to the report, console versions of the game may have a memory management issue, which explains the glitches and stutters players experience consistently at specific parts of the game world. Bethesda has yet to address these concerns, and players continue to find ways to work around these issues.
A couple of weeks ago, Bethesda opened an Oblivion suggestions channel on their official Discord server. They urge fans to give feedback on the game and give out suggestions on what they want to see added.
Oblivion Remastered Player Paralyzed for 66 In-Game Years
In other news, a player has found themselves in an unusual predicament, inflicting themselves with paralysis that lasts for a very long time. In a Reddit post by user Vaverka on May 20, he shared his experience of being paralyzed for 2,097,762,304 seconds, or 66 in-game years.
It is important to note that this is a self-inflicted curse, and Vaverka jokingly said that it was longer than Emperor Uriel Septim’s reign, who ruled Tamriel for much of the Elder Scrolls series. Many wanted to know how to do this spell, but Vaverka has yet to give a response—and a recipe.
Players are discovering many things (including bugs) in the game, and the present version is essentially what the game is meant to be, as it has been 20 years since its original release. Fans just hope that Bethesda will do something soon to alleviate their ongoing concerns and improve the game they love. Hopefully, they will release the game patches some time before Vaverka’s spell has worn off.
