Other Nintendo Direct September 2025 Announcements

No Official Word from Nintendo as Fan Speculations Run Wild

Unlike the most recent Nintendo Direct, almost entirely focused on the Switch 2 port of Kirby Air Riders, Nintendo has remained quiet about what’s in store for the September 2025 Direct. That hasn’t stopped fans from speculating wildly about what could be on the horizon.

With several major releases on the way, many believe Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will finally get a release date during the 60-minute showcase, with some even hoping for the long-awaited expansion of the gameplay reveal from earlier in 2025. Others are eager for updates on Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, last shown in the March 2025 Direct, and Rhythm Heaven Groove, which debuted alongside it.

More Pokémon Legends: Z-A to Follow-up Mega Malamar Reveal

Image

Nintendo’s been on a hot streak with major reveals leading up to the September 2025 Direct, thanks to back-to-back-to-back announcements of new Pokémon mega evolutions for Legends: Z-A. Mega Dragonite, Mega Victreebel, and Mega Malamar kept fans buzzing for weeks, and many believe the momentum will carry straight into the showcase.

While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed whether more mega evolutions are coming, it’s hard to imagine all that buildup ending without a big payoff during one of their biggest announcement slots in months.

Red Dead Redemption 2's Switch 2 Port Could Finally Show Up

Image

Another title stirring up plenty of chatter is Red Dead Redemption 2, thanks to a messy swirl of slip-ups from voice actors and mixed signals from its publisher. Despite being over a decade old, the game still hasn’t ridden onto the Nintendo Switch 2. Nothing’s been officially confirmed by Nintendo or Ubisoft just yet, but the September 2025 Direct would be the perfect stage for a port reveal.

What is Nintendo Direct?

Image

Nintendo Direct is an online presentation series used by Nintendo to announce and showcase upcoming games, hardware, and other content. These broadcasts provide updates directly to consumers and vary in format, ranging from comprehensive showcases featuring first-party titles to smaller presentations focused on third-party games or specific projects.
