Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players can now test their abilities in hardcore mode, a mode previously available only on the Java edition of the game.
Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Introduces Hardcore Mode
Currently in Testing Phases
In a recent announcement on Twitter (X), Minecraft confirmed that hardcore mode is in testing for Bedrock Edition. The arrival of hardcore mode on Bedrock Edition has long been anticipated. Previously exclusive to Minecraft Java Edition, this feature is now accessible to Bedrock Edition players.
Hardcore mode, as its name suggests, offers a relentless challenge where death means the end of the road and you lose everything you've ever picked up, otherwise known as Permadeath. Once a player dies, there is no respawn option available, and interaction with the world ceases, although players can still spectate.
To access and experience the new features, players can opt to participate in testing versions of Minecraft, known as previews or betas for Bedrock Edition. Additionally, Realm owners are able to play these betas and previews on their Realms with friends.
"Now available for testing in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, in this mode death is permanent, and you can't respawn – which is why we'll keep this mode in testing until we're confident the experience is smooth for both players and creators," Minecraft said, "Once it goes into testing, it’ll stay in preview and beta until we’re confident the experience is smooth for both players and creators."
