MindsEye Performance Issues Being Worked on "Around the Clock" After Rough Launch

Image

MindsEye developer Build a Rocket Boy is working around the clock to fix the game’s performance issues. Read on to learn more about the bugs and glitches fans are experiencing and what the developers plan to do to address them.

MindsEye Opens to Mixed Reviews

Glitches, Bugs, and Performance Issues Galore

MindsEye was just recently released on June 10, but the game has already received numerous complaints regarding glitches, bugs, and performance issues. Fans across all social media platforms have shared their experiences and expressed disappointment with how the game is running.

Over at Twitter (X), user Synth Potato posted on June 11 a glitched-out screenshot of one of the game's characters, and said, "MindsEye is not looking too good." Others replied with the same sentiment and stated that it had one of the worst stuttering issues they had experienced, with some even playing on PlayStation 5 Pro.

Several clips of the game’s bugs were also shared, which include enemies running aimlessly during combat, NPCs crashing out and glitching heavily, players falling endlessly through the floor, and many more. Because of this, the game has received "Mixed" reviews on Steam, with 60% of those being negative.

Here at Game8, we gave MindsEye an overall score of 46 out of 100 because it was delivered as a bug-filled, unoptimized, and less-than-desirable mess. Despite the promise of an ambitious entry from publisher IO Interactive, it was plagued with performance issues and needed a lot more time to polish its core aspects and mechanics. Patch 3 Update to Fix Game Issues

Image

MindsEye developer Build a Rocket Boy (BARB) took notice of this and posted on Reddit on June 11 to address the situation. They promised to provide a solution for the current issues the game has in the upcoming patch 3 update.

BARB stated, "We understand that the current minimum spec requirements are very high, but our engineering team are working around the clock to improve performance on mainstream hardware as well as consoles by integrating the performance improvements in Unreal Engine V5.6. We will provide patch 3 update timing, including these improvements, within the next 24 hours."

Moments later, the team posted on Twitter (X) and gave out a comprehensive statement regarding the next patch. They said that the upcoming update will focus on improving performance across all devices, and is scheduled to release on PC by the end of the week, while consoles will receive it at a later date. The hotfix includes the following updates:

 ● Initial CPU and GPU performance improvements, along with memory optimizations.
 ● Reduced difficulty for the CPR mini-game.
 ● A new setting to disable or modify Depth of Field.
 ● A fix for an issue with missing controls for the MineHunter and Run Dungeon mini-games.
 ● Pop-up warnings for PCs that have Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling disabled, and PCs with CPUs that have potential crash issues.

BARB noted that this will be the first in a series of updates geared towards enhancing the game. Furthermore, they are also working on resolving missing DLCs that some players are experiencing.

With the sheer amount of glitches and performance issues the game has right now, BARB has a lot of things to cover in their future updates to regain the community’s trust and interest. MindsEye is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
