Marvel’s Wolverine Still Releasing Fall 2026
Reaffirms Release Window
Marvel’s Wolverine reaffirms its launch window amidst Grand Theft Auto VI’s delay announcement. In a Twitter (X) post on November 8, Insomniac Games doubled down on the game’s release in Fall 2026.
While most of the community anticipates that GTA 6’s delay would push back the release of other developers’ titles (not Devolver Digital, though!), Insomniac Games stands firm on Wolverine coming in Fall 2026. Although its specific release date is still uncertain, Wolverine might go head-to-head with Rockstar Games’ flagship title, as GTA 6’s expected launch of November 19, 2026, is also set for Fall 2026 (around September to November).
The launch window is still far off, and anything could happen from now until then. Fans are hoping that Wolverine doesn’t suffer the same fate as GTA 6 did, especially since the game has been teased since 2021.
Future of Marvel Games

The upcoming release of Marvel’s Wolverine will be the fourth title of Insomniac Games with Marvel Games. In almost a decade, the studio has established a strong foundation with its library of superhero titles, and fans expect this to continue for years to come.
Speaking with Game Informer on November 4, Marvel Games General Manager Haluk Mentes shared his insights on the future of Marvel Games. With a plethora of Marvel titles due in the next year or so, Mentes stressed the importance of finding the right partners to bring these games to life and continue Marvel’s legacy and its characters.

"In full transparency, our games can only achieve the necessary level of creativity when we as Marvel Games have 100% cultural alignment with our collaborators. In fact, we actively seek people who have the same passion and ambition as us, who dream the same dream, as in: "wouldn’t it be cool if we made THIS character in THIS genre in THIS style?," and then we let them, for the lack of a better word, cook. We do actively help, guide, and enhance, but it’s unmistakably their voice," he said.
Mentes noted that the team is dedicated to making every viable, high-quality game they can, so they don't look back and regret passing up a great opportunity. "We happen to be here now, carrying this torch, and we feel we have a debt of gratitude to deliver for the players and future creators, whose first encounter with Marvel might well be one of our games," he stated.

The General Manager highlighted their excellent relationship with Insomniac Games, stating that the studio has become so deeply integrated that it is now "Marvel" in its approach to creating and expanding the brand's narrative.
"We have been working together for more than a decade and developed such a shorthand across multiple Marvel’s Spider-Man games that when the time finally came to bring Logan back in spectacular and visceral fashion, it was obvious to everyone on our team that Insomniac was the perfect choice. It was our shared culture and values that brought us together, and we’re so proud to continue collaborating for many years to come," Mentes said.

Insomniac Games and Marvel Games have yet to share any information about what’s next after Marvel’s Wolverine. It is also important to note that Insomniac Games Senior Narrative Director Jon Paquette previously said in an interview with Business Insider in 2023 that they will be listening to what the fans want for what’s to come.
Marvel's Wolverine is set to be released in Fall 2026 exclusively on PlayStation 5. Insomniac Games will share more information about the game in Spring 2026. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
