Universal Studios Japan Returns To McDonalds
After 3 Years, USJ Is Back With More Characters To Feature
Get yourself a Happy Set in Japan real soon as Universal Studios Japan (USJ) and Mcdonald's release a collaboration toy set featured in Happy Sets! Characters included are from the franchises Super Nintendo World, Minions, Curious George, and JAWS. The limited-edition toys will be available from July 12th to July 18th for Super Nintendo World, and July 19th to July 25th for USJ All Stars.
The collaboration was previously teased in an X (Twitter) post on the official McDonald's Japan X account, where it posted a picture featuring part of Universal Studios Japan’s iconic globe with the McDonald’s logo on the upper right-hand corner. The caption read, "The next collaboration for [the] Happy Set is ~ ❗️🌏✨" In Japan, Happy Meals are called Happy Sets.
This isn’t the first time USJ has collaborated with the fast-food giant—their other notable partnership was in the summer of 2021 when USJ and Mcdonald's celebrated their 20th and 50th anniversaries, respectively. They released the Happy Set "Universal Studios Japan All Stars", a set of toys that included water guns and rotating water trucks emblazoned with the park’s characters’ motifs, and even a sticker picture book.
