Mafia Series Going Back to its Roots
Mafia: The Old Country, the prequel and 4th installment to the Mafia series, is set in 1900s Sicily, where the organized crime group had its gritty beginnings. As a fledgling group of underworld mobs, you have to fight tooth and nail in a ruthless era where various crime syndicates clash with each other to establish their dominance.
The game will feature fully localized Sicilian voice acting to match the time period and to make it more immersive for players. Aside from going back to its roots lore-wise, this upcoming game will also return to the beloved core elements found in previous Mafia games.
In a Business Wire article in August 2024, Hangar 13 president Nick Baynes told fans what to expect from Mafia: The Old Country. "In Mafia: The Old Country, we’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the franchise, crafting a deep, linear narrative with that classic mob movie feeling, visiting a stunning new setting, and delivering it all in a tight, focused package perfect for fans of immersive experiences."
The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and is set to release in 2025. For further information about the game, you can visit the article below!
