Riot Games has recently announced plans for an all-new PvE mode coming to League of Legends’ (LoL) mid-year update. Read on to know more about the announcement and what to expect in the upcoming PvE.
LoL Announces Bullet Heaven Survivor PvE Mode
Will Be 'Markedly Different' from Star Guardian and Odyssey: Extraction
In an update video with developers Selina Liu and Eduardo Cortejoso, Riot Games revealed that PvE mode is coming back to LoL. The new PvE mode was confirmed to currently be in-development and will be rolling out soon in LoL's mid-year update.
"After months of work, it's time to let you all know that we are currently working on our first bullet heaven survivor PvE game mode," Liu announced. Unlike the game's traditional PvP matches where players face off against each other, this PvE mode allows players to take on hordes of enemies, either alone or with other players.
Cortejoso added that the new mode will be markedly different from the previous PvE events like Star Guardian and Odyssey: Extraction, released back in 2018. Previous PvE modes in LoL typically featured cooperative bullet hell-style gameplay where players face off against waves of enemies while dodging their projectiles.
While specific details remain under wraps, the developers showed a glimpse of the new bullet heaven survivor PvE. In bullet heavens, players become the relentless attackers, unleashing a barrage of projectiles on waves of enemies. Based on the preview of the new PvE shown, players can expect to be simultaneously enclosed by an army of enemies circling them while a smaller group comes at them from all directions.
