New Game Plus is an Extra $15

In an unusual move, RGG Studios has chosen to gate the New Game Plus mode in Infinite Wealth behind its Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition. Players are required to spend $85 or $15 for the Deluxe Edition, or $110 for the Legendary Edition, just to access a feature typically offered for free in most games.

As stated on their official website, the New Game Plus mode can be obtained through their Master Vacation Bundle. It introduces three difficulty levels—Normal, Hard, and Legend—and includes an entirely new story called the Big Swell Story.

Infinite Wealth Voice Actor Responds

Yong Yea, the English voice actor for Kiryu Kazama, expressed on Twitter(X) that "No game should lock New Game Plus behind a paywall," emphasizing the potential negative impact on the game's long-term success. According to him, New Game Plus should be a fundamental feature in every game or provided as a free update.

New Game Plus was also a Paid Feature in Yakuza 7

This wasn’t the first time RGG Studios has done this. In Japan, the seventh mainline installment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, also known as Ryū ga Gotoku 7: Hikari to Yami no Yukue, became the first entry in the series to place the new game plus mode behind a paywall. A DLC update demanded Japanese players to pay $9 for access to this feature. Fortunately, when Yakuza: Like a Dragon was launched worldwide, the New Game Plus feature was provided free of charge.
