Judas Shows off Brief Glimpses of Story and Combat

FIX WHAT YOU BROKE

Judas, a new FPS game made by the creators of Bioshock, showcased a brand-new trailer for Sony’s State of Play in Jan 2024! It slightly teases more of its story, where the opening narration asks viewers:

"What if I told you that every word you say is being recorded? Every thought you’ve ever had…your love… your fear…your hate…were just planted in your brain like weeds in a garden. What would you do to free yourself? We both know the answer to the question. Nothing."

She claims that you’re oblivious and ignorant to those facts, but she’s here to set you free whether we like it or not. Lastly, the trailer ends on the words " FIX WHAT YOU BROKE."

On the official Judas PlayStation Blog Post, the game’s creator Ken Levine shares that Judas will be "an experience where players influence how relationships and the story unfold." Players will have uniquely crafted experiences where every choice that affects the narrative all lies on the players’ actions. Acting as Judas, gamers will be "the driver of every event in a story with a new cast of characters to get to know – and change – in ways you haven’t experienced before in our games."

So far, we can deduce nothing solid from the overall plot, but the mysteries being planted in the trailer and Levine’s statements are enough to raise our curiosities as to how Judas will play out.

You Can 3D-Print Your Arms?

After the mysterious story beats, the trailer cuts to various FPS gameplay elements with obvious inspirations from Bioshock, from the high-octane first-person action, the variety of weapons, the vivid effects, the seemingly-magical spells, and… 3D-printing your arms back? Similar to the presentation of the plot, these few glimpses of the gameplay has us excited for the extensive FPS combat that Judas will offer on release.

Besides gameplay, we are briefly shown some seemingly hostile characters attacking the player, from kicking us down and spray-painting us, to fighting over a shotgun, to a robot who explodes, to someone whose face we light on fire.
