⚫︎ Team Clout, the studio behind the upcoming horror title ILL, has shared new insights into its creature design and world-building process via the official PlayStation Blog. Artists Maxim Verehin and Oleg Vdovenko revealed that the team drew heavy inspiration from games like Silent Hill and Half-Life 2, as well as horror films from the 1970s to 1990s.
Vdovenko emphasized the impact of practical effects and animatronics in older horror movies, noting how imperfections—when combined with clever lighting and direction—contributed to the unsettling realism of those creatures. This philosophy influences ILL’s approach to designing its grotesque monsters and building what the team describes as “alive and dangerous” environments.

⚫︎ ILL, a first-person action horror game focused on visceral body horror, is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. First announced during the 2025 Summer Game Fest event, ILL is set in a fortress consumed by an unknown force, the game features grotesque enemy designs, a detailed dismemberment system, and realistic physics to amplify tension and dread. While a release date has yet to be announced, ILL aims to push the boundaries of the horror genre.
