Ghost of Yotei was just announced at the PlayStation State of Play September 2024. It is the follow-up to the wildly successful Ghost of Tsushima by by Sucker Punch Productions.
The game will follow a new protagonist, Atsu, who is played by American voice actor Erika Ishii, and is set to carry on the pillars of what made Ghost of Tsushima so great: the freedom of playing as a wandering warrior in feudal Japan, exposing its players to the beauty of the world.
Its story is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, an area in Japan known today as Hokkaido. During this time, it was a land separate from what was Japan, and will be the main setting for Ghost of Yotei's origin story.
Ghost of Yotei will be the studio's first game built from scratch for the PlayStation 5 and will feature new weapons, mechanics, and gameplay improvements.
