Rebel Wolves Appoints CDPR Veteran Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz as Creative Director
Upcoming AAA Story-Driven RPG Saga to be Released in 2025
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, who had been with CD Projekt Red since 2008, served as lead quest designer on The Witcher 3 and its expansions, and as quest director on Cyberpunk 2077 and part of its expansion Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. His move to Rebel Wolves brings another experienced CDPR professional to the new studio formed in 2022.
According to Rebel Wolves co-founder Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the studio's upcoming project is a "dark fantasy, story-focused open-world AAA RPG." The game is based on a new franchise by Rebel Wolves' co-founder and narrative director Jakub Szamalek, who worked as a writer for over 9 years at CDPR.
The scope of the game is expected to be similar to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion but with a more non-linear narrative. The studio aims for a 2025 release and plans to make the game available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
