Amatangelo Wishes that Technology Was More Advanced
Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk Sequel “Project Orion” Game Director Gabe Amatangelo recently spoke with IGN regarding the progress of the game’s development.
According to Amatangelo, there isn’t a clear line in “determining whether the game enters different phases of production.” However, he states that Project Orion is currently in its “fun phase.”
Amatangelo emphasizes that in an ideal game development process, the initial stages are dominated by ideation and concept art.
Once the team feels confident about their ideas, they move on to prototyping.
However, Project Orion finds itself in a somewhat ambiguous phase, toggling between creating prototypes, exploring pipeline setups, refining story concepts, and generating concept art.
He couldn't provide much new information about Project Orion, but when asked by IGN about the state of game console technology in relation to his ambitions for the game, he expressed a desire for more advanced tech.
He admitted to wishing for Holodecks
in real life, inspired by the fictional device from the Star Trek series, capable of creating lifelike 3D simulations using holograms.
