Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red is not done yet, as the game will receive another update later this month. Read on to learn more about what the studio has in store for the game, and is it really the final patch?
Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Not Done Yet
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Coming on June 26
Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has more in store for the game, as they announced an upcoming update to drop soon. During CDPR’s REDstreams on June 5, the developers revealed a new patch for the game coming later this month.
Before closing off the celebration of Cyberpunk 2077’s release on the Switch 2, CDPR stated that Patch 2.3 will come out on June 26, and more details will be shared on another livestream before it goes live.
CDPR Global Community Director Marcin Momot reiterated this announcement on Twitter (X) on June 5 and told fans to stay tuned for more information about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update. CDPR Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko retweeted this on June 6 and said that they have been cooking this in secret for a while now, and will communicate more when it is ready.
Is It Really the Last Update?

CDPR has had multiple "final" updates for the game for quite some time, but it seems this next update could very well be its true final one as the studio looks to shift its focus to Cyberpunk 2. The developers even jokingly said that the "last" update was not the last one during the latest REDstreams.
The studio initially said that Patch 2.1 was the "last big update" the game would have, which coincided with its Ultimate Edition release in December 2023. Then, in December 2024, they released Patch 2.2 in collaboration with support developer Virtuos, which brought more customization options to the game. Fans thought this was their final update, given that the game was first released in December 2020.
Furthermore, CDPR seems to have a difficult time letting their games be as this trend can also be observed in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The studio first said that The Witcher 3’s Patch 4.0 next-gen update in December 2022 was its last one, but another major patch came with Patch 4.04 in July 2023.
More recently, CDPR announced that the game will receive its true final update later this year. In celebration of The Witcher 3’s 10th Anniversary, CDPR posted on Twitter (X) on May 30 that the upcoming patch will feature cross-platform mod support, allowing players to share their creativity through mods in one big ecosystem.

With Cyberpunk 2 entering pre-production and The Witcher 4’s latest tech demo, it’s safe to say that CDPR’s final patches to those games’ predecessors will be their last ones. For now, Cyberpunk fans can enjoy the game on Nintendo’s newest handheld console.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is now available on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. It includes the full base game, all the updates since its launch, and the critically-acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
