Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming 2.3 update has been pushed back as CD Projekt RED looks to match the size of its predecessor. Read on to learn more about 2.3's delay and the scope of its content.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Delayed
"A Scope Similar to Update 2.2"

Cyberpunk 2077, the acclaimed sci-fi action RPG from CD Projekt Red (CDPR), is postponing what many are calling its true "final" update. Originally slated for release on June 26, CDPR has just announced that the team is taking "a little more time" as they aim to deliver an update with "a scope similar to Update 2.2."
Following the announcement, Global Community Director Marcin Momot went on Twitter (X) to apologize for the delay and thank fans for their support.
"Turns out we're going to need more time with this one. Sorry for the wait and thanks for your patience, everyone!" Mormot wrote.
Associate Game Director Paweł Sasko also weighed in on Update 2.3, noting that the team is taking extra time to polish and refine its new features.
"Need a little more time in the oven my chooms." Sasko writes, "Making sure it's done well and polished for you. Much love, thank you for your passion for our game -- it's incredibly motivating and inspiring."
What to Expect from Cyberpunk 2077's Next Update?
More Customization Options

While Update 2.3 is still shrouded in mystery, revisiting Cyberpunk's previous release might offer a hint at the kind of content players would see next. Update 2.2 brought a major upgrade to character customization with over 100 new options, such as:
⚫︎ Eye and Nail Colors
⚫︎ Makeup Types
⚫︎ Face Scars
⚫︎ Tattoos
⚫︎ Cosmetic Cyberware
⚫︎ Eyebrow Shapes
⚫︎ Plain-to-Punk
Randomization Slider
Additionally, Autofixers (vehicle vendors) in the game were given CrystalCoat™ color options for more brands, TWINTONE™ technology to scan and apply paint jobs from other cars.
Another Game Crossover

CD Projekt Red surprised its player base with a side quest for version 2.2 featuring the hit roguelike Balatro. The mission challenges players to track down hidden graffiti tied to the game, rewarding them with exclusive items such as themed clothing and apartment decorations upon completion.
With the positive player reception it garnered, there is a possibility for more crossovers or promotions for upcoming titles like CDPR's The Witcher 4.
New NPC Interactions

Johnny Silverhand, the iconic character portrayed by Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077, received new interactions in Update 2.2. Johnny could now be seen as a passenger in select vehicle sequences, offering fresh dialogue and banter with V, Cyberpunk's protagonist. With these new interactions added into the game, it may not be too far-fetched to hope for more NPC content to come in the final update.

In the end, it's clear that CDPR isn’t afraid to celebrate the wider gaming world while continuing to evolve Cyberpunk 2077. By weaving in playful and unexpected content like this, the studio continues to expand the game's identity.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is now available on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. It includes the full base game, all the updates since its launch, and the critically-acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion.
