Cronos: The New Dawn Announces New Temporal Diver Difficulty Option

Cronos: The New Dawn announced a new difficulty option called "Temporal Diver," which is set to launch in early 2026. As announced by developer Bloober Team on their official website on December 22, the survival horror game will include a new easy mode that allows players to explore the story and atmosphere with significantly less challenging combat.
Alongside the announcement is a short trailer video that explains the new difficulty option and the reason behind its addition. While Bloober Team originally designed Cronos to challenge players, they are introducing Temporal Diver mode in response to fan feedback requesting a more accessible experience.
"But, we’ve heard your voices, and we know that some of us want to explore the story behind the game in your own pace. So right now, we are working on a new difficulty setting that will be introduced in early 2026. Such is our calling," the developers stated.
Currently, Cronos offers two difficulty options. Anvil of the Collective serves as the standard mode, while the more difficult Forged in Fire becomes available once the main campaign has been accomplished. With Temporal Diver mode, the new difficulty option will feature increased player health and reduced enemy difficulty.
Fans have praised Cronos for its "dark tone and oppressive atmosphere," noting that while the gameplay is intentionally challenging, it consistently remains fair. Following its "Very Positive" reception on Steam, the new easy mode will help introduce Cronos to a wider range of players who prefer a less demanding experience.

Ambient Music Video and Cronos Soundtrack Now Available
Aside from the easy mode announcement, Bloober Team has released an ambient music video on their YouTube channel featuring Cronos’ soundtrack on December 22. This hour-long ambient music video showcases the game’s haunting score, composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski with ethereal vocals from the Polish-Ukrainian folk group Zazula.
The video’s description reads, "Check out our ambient video from Cronos and experience the eerie atmosphere of the wasteland of New Dawn, frozen in time in 1980s Poland after the apocalypse struck. The moody visuals are enhanced by carefully selected tracks from the soundtrack. Embrace the Christmas spirit with Cronos and witness the snowy New Dawn before it crumbles away."
