Content Warning made a big splash with its free-to-play launch on April 1. Within its launch day, the game garnered over 6 million downloads on Steam, which, unfortunately, came with server and hosting issues.
Content Warning Reaches Milestone Within Release Day
Small Dev Team Promises to Roll Out Fixes for Server Issues and Game Bugs
In a celebratory announcement by Content Warning devs Landfall, several milestones achieved during the game's free-to-play period were highlighted, including attracting 200,000 concurrent players on Steam and surpassing over 6.2M downloads overall. The free-to-play period lasted from April 1 until April 2 at 9 a.m. PT. "Now the game has gone paid - it's available for 7.99USD for those of you who didn't get it during the free promotion - for those of you who did, you get to keep the game forever!" announced Landfall in a recent post.
However, this inevitably led to server issues as the game struggled to accommodate the monumental number of players. Alongside the server issues, Landfall acknowledged several major bugs that need addressing, such as voice chat issues, connection and hosting bugs, and problems with camera footage.
Currently, the development team is prioritizing efforts to resolve these issues according to their announcement on its Steam page. "Content Warning is made by a very small team of devs (only 5 people) so fixes may take a little while but we promise you we are doing our best to solve the issues," read the announcement.
