Baldur’s Gate 3 Bags Even More Awards at BAFTA 2024
Another Well-Deserved GOTY and More
Baldur’s Gate 3 is no stranger to winning awards. At the recently concluded and very prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Game Awards, Baldur’s Gate 3 has received yet another set of silverware to add to its already large collection.
The highly-acclaimed game won the BAFTA 2024 Awards for Best Game, Multiplayer, Music, Narrative, Performer in a Supporting Role (Andrew Wincott as Raphael), as well as the Players’ Choice Award. It also received 3 nominations for Performer in a Lead role (Amelia Tyler as Narrator, Neil Newbon as Astarion, and Samantha Béart as Karlach), as well as nominations for another Performer in a Supporting Role (Tracy Wiles as Jaheira), Artistic Achievement, Multiplayer. It won 6 out of 18 awards and was nominated in 10 of these, dominating this year’s BAFTA awards.
BG3’s Previous Accolades and Reception
Baldur’s Gate 3 took the gaming community by storm, being a faithful video game adaptation of the world-famous tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons. Its players were often captivated by its incredible writing, seamless gameplay, rich content, and how you’re free to think outside the box as the game lets you do pretty much anything you want. Baldur’s Gate has bagged more than 20 prestigious awards. Some of the most notable include being crowned Game of the Year awards by the Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards 2023, The Steam Awards, New York Game Awards, the 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, and the 24th Game Developers Choice Awards. In addition to these, BG3 was also very well received by critics, receiving a 90/100 from Game8, a 10/10 from IGN, and a 10/10 as well from Gamespot.
