 ⚫︎ Five new levels and two bots have been added to Astro Bot in an update. The two new bots were from Playstation franchise that at first did not appear in Astro Bot

April 8

 ⚫︎ Astro Bot claimed top honors at the BAFTA Games Awards, winning Best Game and leading the night with a total of five awards. The ceremony, hosted by comedian Phil Wang, recognized standout titles from the past year.

March 21

 ⚫︎ Following Astro Bot's Game of the Year win in 2024, Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet has drawn attention for comments made during a panel at the Game Developers Conference. Speaking on the game's development, Doucet emphasized the value of creating compact, finishable experiences in an industry often focused on scale.

“From the start, we were in the mindset that it's OK to make a compact game,” said Doucet. He noted that a smaller scope allowed the team to maintain full creative control while also offering players a game they could realistically complete—an increasingly persuasive idea in an era of growing backlogs.

 ⚫︎ Astro Bot’s latest update introduces a new level titled Hard to Bear, featuring a special reference to The Order: 1886. The level is part of the ongoing Vicious Void Galaxy DLC rollout, which includes five free weekly levels released throughout February and March. The final level in the series is scheduled to launch in mid-March.

 ⚫︎ Team Asobi has announced the rollout of five new levels for Astro Bot, beginning today with the introduction of the Vicious Void Galaxy. These free weekly updates will include one new level each Thursday through March 13, with each level offering increased difficulty, a unique Special Bot to rescue, and the option to replay in Time Attack mode with online leaderboards.

 ⚫︎ Former Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aimé, recently expressed his admiration for Astro Bot, which won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024. The 3D platformer, developed by Sony and Team Asobi, and semi-recent winner of 2024's prestigious Game of the Year Award, drew strong inspiration from classic Nintendo titles like Super Mario Bros., drawing eyes and admiration from its own fans and Nintendo's alike.

January 19

 ⚫︎ Team ASOBI unveiled a brand-new, previously unseen Astro Bot speedrun stage during this weekend’s PlayStation tournament. Finalists raced through the unfamiliar level in a bid to set the fastest clear time and claim victory in the competition.

December 17

 ⚫︎ Team ASOBI’s Astro Bot claimed multiple top honors in 2024, winning awards for Best Art Direction, Audio Design, and Use of DualSense. The game was praised for its vibrant visuals, nostalgic character tributes, immersive sound design, and creative haptic feedback. It also earned recognition for its accessibility features, including high-contrast visuals and support for the Access Controller. Widely voted as one of the year’s best titles, Astro Bot reaffirmed Team ASOBI’s place at the forefront of innovative game design.

 ⚫︎ Astro Bot has been awarded Game of the Year, recognized for delivering the best overall experience across creative and technical fields. The title triumphed over strong contenders including Metaphor: ReFantazio, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

 ⚫︎ A free update for Astro Bot, titled Winter Wonder, will be released on Thursday, December 12 at 8:00 PM PT, developer Team ASOBI has announced. The new content introduces a festive-themed level as a thank-you to fans following the game's positive reception since its PlayStation 5 launch earlier this year.

 ⚫︎ Astro Bot was named Best Game of the Year at the 2024 Titanium Awards, presented during the BIG: Bilbao International Games Conference at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao. The platformer edged out Metaphor: ReFantazio, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to take the top honor.

November 22

 ⚫︎ Team ASOBI, the developer behind Astro Bot, has won Studio of the Year at the 2024 Golden Joystick Awards. The recognition follows the critical success of Astro Bot, which was nominated in four categories after its September release. Team ASOBI triumphed over fellow nominees including 11 Bit Studios (Frostpunk 2) and Arrowhead Game Studios (Helldivers 2).

 ⚫︎ The Game Awards has unveiled its 2024 nominations, with Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth topping the list at seven nominations each, including Game of the Year. Other titles in the running for the top award include Black Myth: Wukong, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Balatro, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, the latter drawing some controversy.

November 8

 ⚫︎ Sony has announced that Astro Bot, the PlayStation 5 exclusive platformer, has sold 1.5 million copies as of November 3. The game, developed by Sony-owned Team Asobi and released on September 6, reached the milestone in under two months.
