Moist Esports Takes on US Immigration

Charles White Announces Their Plight to Sue US Immigration

In a video posted on his YouTube channel last Saturday, Charles White(also known as Moist Critical or penguinz), founder of Moist Esports, revealed that his organization is taking legal action against the US Immigration Department. The announcement comes after what White describes as a series of frustrating encounters with the agency, particularly concerning the entry of three Australian members of the Moist Esports’ Apex Legends squad into the United States.

According to White, despite providing ample evidence of his team's standing in the esports community, including endorsements from high-ranking executives at Electronic Arts (EA), the immigration authorities repeatedly rejected the Australians' visa applications. The situation reached a critical juncture when two out of three Australian players were denied ESTA visas, typically granted with a high success rate. White expressed bewilderment at the arbitrary nature of the rejections, especially considering one player's successful application while the others were denied.

To overcome these hurdles, Moist Esports pursued B-1 visas, necessitating in-person interviews at the US embassy, a process White described as costly and time-consuming. Eventually, after a series of logistical challenges, the Australian players obtained the necessary visas and arrived in the United States, albeit with their competitive momentum disrupted.

Despite the setbacks inflicted by what White termed a "biblical smackdown" from US Immigration, the (Not) Moist Esports squad managed to excel in recent tournaments, securing a coveted spot on the winner's side. However, White emphasized that the journey was marred by significant financial losses and organizational strain.

White's frustration extended beyond the immediate impact on Moist Esports, as he criticized what he perceives as systemic flaws within the immigration system. He highlighted the lack of accountability and the seeming impunity with which immigration officials operate, shielded from personal repercussions by governmental structures.

“Not” Moist Esports Shines in ALGS Finals

For those uninitiated with the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS), teams must accumulate 50 points through a combination of victories and kills. However, the crucial twist lies in the fact that a team can only clinch victory in the Finals by securing a first-place finish after hitting the 50-point threshold.

Moist Esports, after the debacle with the US Immigration, decided they would be participating in the ALGS under the banner Not Moist. In a remarkable display of resilience and skill, Not Moist Esports has defied the odds and emerged triumphant in the face of adversity. Despite the challenges posed by their legal battle with the US Immigration department, the team showcased their prowess in the ALGS Finals, securing a fourth-place finish in their final game.
