Among Us Announces the Indie Cosmicube Collaboration with Fellow Indie Games
Among Us joined forces with fellow indie game studios behind A Hat in Time, Behemoth, Celeste, Crypt of the NecroDancer, Undertale, and Untitled Goose Game to create the "Indie Cosmicube." This collaboration introduces a new cosmetic pack inspired by the characters and themes of the aforementioned game titles.
To get this special pack of cosmetics, players need 7,000 beans (Among Us’ in-game currency) that can be earned freely. Once purchased, players must equip the pack and engage in matches to unlock all the outfits and items it contains.
Among Us developers Innersloth shared the news of the collaboration through an official statement: "Our new collab is with not one, not two, but SIX different game studios for our largest Cosmicube ever! Our indie friends have brought their characters to Among Us to commit crimes uhhhhh….. help Crewmates out…. with tasks…. Yeah… (Can someone please check on Papyrus?)"
Indie Cosmicube Only Available Until February 2024
The Indie Cosmicube boasts an array of cosmetic items, including 25 hats, 18 skins, 12 nameplates, 9 visors, and 6 pets. Do take note that this collection will only be available in the in-game store until February 2024.
Patch Updates and Removal of 2021 Versions of Among Us
Alongside the collaboration, Innersloth is introducing a series of patches, including various updates and fixes. The devs announced that they will remove the 2021 versions of the game, urging players to use the updated versions instead.
In the announcement post, Innersloth mentioned, "We’ve been supporting a lot of older versions of the game, and as it continues to grow and get new features, it gets harder to keep up. We have to remove older versions so we can focus on improving our system for everyone. Make sure you update your game and thanks for understanding!"
