A Fortnite Live-Action Movie By Zack Snyder Could Be A Thing

Renowned DCEU and 300 director Zack Snyder expressed his interest in directing a live-action Fortnite movie. Read on to learn more.

Zack Snyder Interested in Directing a Fortnite Live-Action Movie

Zack Snyder is a Big Fan of Fortnite

Zack Snyder, the director behind some of DCEU’s best films and the iconic 300, expressed in an interview with Etalk his interest in directing a live-action Fortnite movie. Snyder, being open about his love for the popular battle royale, was asked if he would “want to combine” his passions for Fortnite and making blockbuster movies. The director quickly responded with “I mean, of course.”

Snyder went on to say that he persistently tried to get Rebel Moon skins into Fortnite, given how the game loves to feature crossover skins from a wide variety of popular films/series. However, this never pushed through.

The renowned director enthusiastically explained how he feels about Fortnite. “Look, Fortnite is an amazing world, and it is an amazing distraction for me,” said Snyder. “It’s really cool, and the alchemy that they’ve created there is really unique. When I started playing it I thought I knew what it was and then it was something entirely different.” he continued.

Fortnite and Hunger Games Aren’t Too Far Apart

Personally, I’d love to see how a live-action Fortnite movie would turn out. It’s easy to imagine a hundred people fighting to the death Hunger Games style. What I’m curious about is how they would integrate the building mechanics Fortnite is known for into the movie.

If millions enjoyed 24 teenagers getting sent to an isolated environment to get loot and outlive everyone else (usually by murdering others), I don’t see why a hundred dropping off the Battle Bus to do pretty much the same thing wouldn’t work.
