Roblox Will be Coming to Playstation in October
On September 8, 2023 Roblox Corporation held its 9th Roblox Developers Conference (RDC), hosted by founder and CEO David Baszucki. In the presentation, he officially announced that “Roblox” will be coming to Playstation by next month. Baszucki states that they have been working on this particular platform expansion in the background for a while.
He also talked about the massive success of the “Roblox” beta test on the Meta Quest virtual reality headsets, touting over one million installs within the first five days. In lieu of the success, the full game will be coming out of beta this month.
A live demonstration of cross-platform play was shown using a Playstation 5, a Meta Quest, and mobile device. They showed off the seamless interactions and the graphics fidelity of “Roblox” on the PS5.
Switch Version On The Way?
After unveiling that the Meta Quest and Playstation versions will be launching by next month, Baszucki teased the audience that there will be more platforms to come. The version he’s hinting at is sure to be a Switch version, seeing as it’s the only other major platform to yet have “Roblox.” Its absence is emphasized with the slide that Baszucki shows containing all platforms and consoles. He says there are obviously one or two platforms missing, and teases the audience to stay tuned.
