Nicki Minaj, the worldwide acclaimed hip-hop artist, is collaborating with Call of Duty, becoming the franchise's first-ever self-named female Operator. This ground-breaking partnership marks a huge advancement in the portrayal of real-life celebrities in the gaming industry.

Nicki Minaj's Debut as a Female Operator

Call of Duty has had a history of using real-life celebrities as in-game Operators, adding a unique flavor to the gameplay experience. Notable celebs include Snoop Dogg, Lionel Messi, and Kevin Durant. While there had been plenty of these male celebrity Operators, the female Operators had all been fictional characters up until this point.

Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare II saw the debut of Nicki Minaj as the first-ever self-titled female Operator. Before the release of Modern Warfare II, the Squad Up ad, featuring notable personalities including Lil Baby, Bukayo Saka, and Pete Davidson, first broke the news of her presence.

Nicki Minaj inclusion into the game extends beyond just her Operator role. She may have a special Store Bundle for Season 5, including the eagerly awaited assault gun in Barbie pink.

Snoop Dog's Return and Upcoming Season 5 Launch

Additionally, Snoop Dog, another celebrated artist, has also returned to the Call of Duty franchise, marking this as his third appearance as an Operator.

The anticipated Season 5 of Modern Warfare II and Warzone is set to launch on August 2 at 9 AM PT across all platforms, introducing exciting new content and gameplay enhancements to players worldwide.

Celebrating 50 Years of Hip Hop

Call of Duty intended to commemorate 50 Years of Hip Hop during Season 5 to enhance the gaming experience and celebrate the rich legacy of hip-hop culture. As part of the festivities, players may receive free hip-hop War Tracks by logging in four times between August 7 and August 16.

The gifts contain War Tracks from various eras, such as the '80s (Foundation), '90s (Golden Era), and 2000s (Life After Y2K). Players will also receive a unique Weapon Blueprint that could be utilized in any online mode as a prize for logging in on the fourth day, adding a nostalgic flavor to the gameplay.
