2XKO Early Access’ Season 0 Details
Coming October 7
2XKO is ramping up towards its Early Access release as developer Riot Games shared new information about its upcoming Season 0, along with a new cinematic trailer for the game. On October 6, Riot Games uploaded a brand-new official cinematic for 2XKO on their YouTube channel titled "Ties That Bind."
This 4-minute video highlights the connection between each champion, with Ahri, Yasuo, and Ekko taking center stage. It also gave fans a glimpse of another champion coming to 2XKO, Warwick, which was confirmed in a later post.
Additionally, in a Twitter (X) post on October 6, 2025, Riot Games gave a brief overview of Season 0’s patch notes, which are further detailed on their website. This upcoming update will wipe all progress for those who played the Closed Beta.
However, Riot Games assured players that starting from Early Access, there will be no account resets moving forward. Furthermore, the Early Access will still be exclusive to PC players, but progress on PC will carry over to consoles once they go live.

There will be two patches coming early this season: Patch 1.01 on October 7 at 8 AM PT, and 1.0.1.1 on October 9 at 12 PM PT. Moreover, 2XKO’s online play will be unavailable on October 9 between 8 AM PT and 12 PM PT.

New Content, Champions, Skins, Stages, and More

2XKO brings a plethora of new content to the game’s Early Access release: from new champions, skins, stages, to adjustments on various aspects of the tag fighter. To start, those who participated in the Closed Beta will receive the exclusive "Closed Beta Boss" player title once the update goes live.
Aside from the previously announced addition of Teemo, 2XKO brings the Uncaged Wrath of Zaun, Warwick, to the roster. Warwick’s move list and gameplay trailer will be unveiled tomorrow, while a dedicated dev update will be available the following day.
On top of the current tutorials, 2XKO will have Combo Trials, providing more opportunities for players to learn each champion. The Training Mode will also have a frame data bar, which will help players visualize frame data to see the gaps in their combos.

To further immerse players while fighting, 2XKO will introduce new stages based on the different regions of Runeterra. These new stages are Bandlewood Crossing, which can be purchased in the Stages section of the Collection tab, and Firelight Run, which is the first reward in the paid Battle Pass track.
While the Closed Beta was successful, the developers will continue to improve the game’s systems while in Early Access by implementing numerous adjustments for Fuses and champions, as well as several bug fixes. Meanwhile, Ranked play will begin on October 9, 2025, with the release of patch 1.0.1.1.
The new matchmaking queuing system for Ranked will increase queue time, ensuring that players will duke it out against other players of the same level. This will make Ranked matches more balanced and fair, and climbing the ranks will feel rewarding.
Battle Pass and Bundles

Season 0 will offer several versions of the Battle Pass and Bundles that include new skins, stages, and other cosmetics. Each season, there will be a Battle Pass where players can earn free and exclusive rewards as they earn more Battle Pass XP by going through matches.
The free track of Season 0’s Battle Pass will reward players with the Rift Quest Teemo skin, a set of avatar clothing, 3 stickers, a player card, a player title, and a finisher. Two other options for the Battle Pass are also available, with Deluxe and Ultra offering more rewards.
In addition to the Battle Pass, each season will also have Mega Bundles that contain different types of premium cosmetics such as high-tier skins, finishers, and more. Riot Games has introduced 4 upcoming bundles that will drop across Season 0.
● Starter Editions - October 7
● Crime City Mega Bundle - November 4
● Aureate Mega Bundle - December 2
● Snow Moon Mega Bundle - December 23

With all the changes and additions that 2XKO’s Early Access will bring, more players can now enjoy a new experience on Riot Games’ long-awaited fighting game. Despite having a rocky start, the developers are finally finding their stride with the promise of releasing an estimated 5 new champions every year.
2XKO will open for early access on October 7, 2025, for PC. It is set to be fully released sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Riot Games client. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
