Necrom Synopsis

The story is about Hermaeus Mora, the knower of the unknown and hoarder of knowledge and secrets of the Realm.

Hidden powers threaten Mora's realm of Apocrypha, intending to uncover forbidden knowledge, one so essential and yet dangerous that it will jeopardize Tamriel Region and the whole Nirn.

Mora will test the players to see if they are worthy to act as the protector of the ultimate secret. This also becomes an opportunity to seek out other knowledge if they wish.

With this set prompt, the players who are into the lore of ESO could take advantage of the forbidden knowledge they can get while in the service for Mora. In contrast, players who are into exploration can fight to protect the hidden knowledge that Mora was trying to keep.

Revisiting Old Locations

The Chapter is set to happen in Eastern Morrowind, specifically Telvanni Peninsula, home of the Dumner or Dark Elves. Necrom is the main city of the Chapter, the City of the Dead, where the Dumner would bury their deceased in elaborate ceremonies.

One of the other zones that can be explored in this Chapter is Apocrypha, the Oblivion realm, home to the forbidden knowledge and home of the Daedric Prince, Hermaeus Mora.

It was said in the ESO 2023 Global Reveal that despite these locations are not that new, they were able to update and improve the areas so that the players could find new content while exploring.

The community also requested for this feature to be able to find and revisit old zones, so this update is sure to be applauded. It is excellent that instead of adding in more locations, the devs can utilize their resources and give life to those locations.

The visuals for this locations were breathtakingly creepy but that's the beauty of getting new locations; new emotions and associations are envoked through these sceneries.

New Class: Arcanist

Image
ZeniMax Online Studios heard their community and released the new class, Arcanist. Arcanist wields magic influenced by forbidden knowledge of Apocrypha. They have unique abilities to use powerful spells in several mediums, like runes and tomes.

The Devs heard the community and finally released their third new class, the Arcanist. As expected, Arcanist wields magic, and this can be a great class when dealing with the enemies that the players will encounter in their exploration.

Overall, Necrom's release aimed to be one of the best Chapters for Elder Scrolls One. For players who have exploration in mind, it is also good that the other zones of Tamriel were being utilized as a place with lore.

Aside from that, it gives a fresh take on these locations because it will be associated with new quests to defeat that players will enjoy. They will have more content and stories to weave while exploring Necrom and its surrounding areas.

Is Necrom Worth Playing?

Recommended for New Content

Just by seeing the trailer, it looked like ESO players and future players will have a great time playing this Chapter. The story is well-thought and the stunning visuals will allow your to explore Moorwind, moreover, the new class Arcanist will be a great hook for people who wanted new content and new ways of enjoying Elder Scrolls Online.
