Party Play Feature Now Live!
Pokemon GO Play with Friends
Pokemon Go’s latest feature: Party Play is here! Rolling out today, October 17, 2023, this new feature lets up to 4 Trainers adventure as a party together. This update lets players create and join a party, see their party’s progress and activities, complete new party challenges together, and use an all-new Party Power during tough raids. There’s even an added bonus: you can see your friends’ avatars on your in-game map.
However, Trainers have to be at least level 15 on Pokemon Go to create or join a party.
Party Play 101
Hosting and joining a party is easy, as there is a dedicated party tab where players can see the options to join or create a party. Creating a party generates a numerical and QR code that can be shared to other players. Joining a party is even easier, since players only need to scan the QR code or input the generated numerical code. Once everyone is ready, the host can start the party, and all players will be returned to the map.
Party Perks
Party Play also introduces cool features: Party Challenges and Party Power.
Party Challenges let players take on various tasks such as spinning PokeStops, battling in raids, catching Pokemon and more. Of course, completing these challenges means in-game rewards.
In addition to challenges, Party Power gives a bonus that allows players in a party to double the damage of their next Charged Attack. This power recharges every Fast Attack and will charge faster the more members there are in a party.
Finally, the game introduces a new Special Research, Welcome Party, which Trainers can complete to get exclusive in-game Eevee-themed T-shirts.
