Epic Games, a well-known publisher and developer, has introduced two ground-breaking initiatives to increase income and expand developer reach. The Epic First Run Program and Now on Epic initiative, presented on October 16, 2023, are positioned to change the gaming and development landscapes.

Epic First Run Program: Empowering Developers

The Epic First Run Program, introduced on August 23, 2023, supports third-party developers using the Epic Games Store as their distribution channel. Through this initiative, developers can keep all net revenues from user purchases made during the first six months of their games' exclusivity on the Epic Games Store. As a result, developers can enjoy the fruits of their labor and originality without having to share profits with the platform.

Participation in the Epic First Run Program requires creating an Epic Games Developer Account. The product is a brand-new release or program that has never been accessible on any third-party PC shop or included in a subscription service. The application period for this program will be open throughout October 2023.

Epic Games' daring concept is simple: provide developers a tempting incentive of six months of net revenue in exchange for six months of exclusivity on the Epic Games Store. If this gamble is successful, players can expect to enjoy a wave of recent, exclusive games from Epic Games for the first six months after their release.

Now on Epic: Resurrecting Classics

Epic Games simultaneously debuted the Now on Epic initiative to give previously published games a fresh life. Developers can relaunch their goods to the Epic Games Store, with the added benefit of increasing their net revenue from user spending to 100% during the first six months on the store for all payments handled by Epic Games.

To participate in this project, developers must have released at least three products that were available before October 31, 2023, and are now available on another third-party PC platform or included in a subscription service. All products must debut in the Epic Games Store by June 30, 2025; registration will remain open until December 31, 2024.

Epic Games has reinforced its dedication to encouraging creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the game industry with these audacious actions. The organization is ready to transform the industry landscape and satisfy gamers with exclusive, high-quality content by providing developers with these ground-breaking options.
