Hardcore Competitive Players to Benefit from New Anti-Cheating Measures

Counter-Strike 2 has officially launched, heralding a new age of competitive gaming. However, this release has a clear message to cheaters: stop cheating or face the banhammer with your associates.

Counter-Strike 2's creators have added strong anti-cheat procedures to safeguard the game's integrity and provide a level playing field. As stated in the release notes, which were just made public, when one or more party members get convicted of cheating and permanently banned, all their associates will be penalized with the loss of Profile Rank and CS Rating.

This is made possible by VAC Live, the anti-cheating tool that Valve has been preparing since March 2023 when the CS2 beta started. According to Dot Esport, a player witnessed a player being reported and was instantly banned after a single report.

Counter-Strike 2's intensely competitive level has included a new anti-cheating technique for the most devoted players. Players with highly established CS Ratings will no longer be able to party up with other accounts with lower rankings. This action strives to ensure fairness in the most competitive levels of play.

A Long Standing Battle Against Cheaters

First-person shooter (FPS) games have long struggled with the issue of cheaters, and Counter-Strike has been no exception. Since the beginning, the franchise has been committed to fostering an atmosphere devoid of unfair benefits and illegal practices.

Record-Breaking Launch

Counter-Strike 2's release has been nothing short of a success, with over 1.2 million players on Steam in its first week. The decision to provide these stern warnings from the start emphasizes the creators' dedication to delivering a clean, competitive experience for all players.

As the number of participants grows, some Counter-Strike 2 fans may have difficulty finding a match. This is primarily due to server capacity constraints in various countries. The good news is that the team is actively working to rapidly increase server capacity to handle the rising player base.
