Monument Valley 3 Overview
Monument Valley 3 is the latest entry to the puzzle-platformer game by ustwo games. Released on December 10, 2024, it will deviate from its predecessors by debuting exclusively in Netflix Games. Monument Valley 1 and 2 were first released on the Google Play and Apple App stores and later ported to PC, whereas MV3 will be the reverse as it launched on Netflix Games first, and will eventually be heading to PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch sometime in Summer 2025.
Monument Valley 3 revolves around Noor, an apprentice to the lighthouse keeper which shines over and prevents the darkness from overcoming the world. However, the lighthouse’s light is fading away, and Noor is tasked with finding a new powerful light source to keep the darkness at bay. She must navigate an extraordinary adventure, where players will not only follow her personal journey, but also delve into the deeper, symbolic themes of renewal, hope, and resilience. Her quest, framed by the looming threat of a fading light of the world, promises an emotionally charged narrative that resonates beyond just the surface of her puzzle-solving expedition.
Players will be guiding Noor as she goes from chapter to chapter, and area to area in order to solve puzzles and uncover light shards hidden. Fans will be put to the test with all-new complex puzzles that will test their spatial awareness and observational skills.

Monument Valley 3 Gameplay
Monument Valley 3 is an isometric mind-and-space-bending platformer puzzle game where players will have their spatial awareness put to the test. They will control Noor, the protagonist, and guide her through twisting and turning platforms to reach her goal. Gamers will have to interact with environments by rotating, flipping, or even mirroring in order to find the correct solution for the puzzles and create or assemble the paths forward.
Noor will also be able to access a boat to travel to different locations, allowing players to complete the game at a non-linear pace and order.

Small Master-piece of Cake
Monument Valley 3 excels in continuing the series’ masterful art direction and creativity with its puzzles, implementing astonishing feats for the genre. However, our reviewer at Game8 mentions how, even for how magical the game is, much of its puzzles are far too straightforward and easy. Also, similar to the earlier titles, it has a very short playtime, " pulling you out of its world as quickly as you came in."
ShackNews agrees with the sentiment, lovingly praising the game for weaving its creative puzzles and story together, but ending too quickly and suddenly just as they were enthralled. GINX points out how the game’s length left much of its story beats unexplored or unexplained, and that it sometimes rehashes some puzzles from earlier entries. In the end, they gave the game a 7/10

The trailer reveals stunningly crafted landscapes where Noor must navigate challenges and puzzles. There’s a scene where two NPCs, possibly a mother and child, are reunited after Noor has solved the puzzle. In the final moments, Noor sails through stormy seas before being swallowed by a massive fish.
