Kingdom Hearts 3 Overview

Kingdom Hearts 3, also known as KH3 or Kingdom Hearts III, is an action JRPG developed and published by Square Enix. It is the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series and serves as the conclusion to the “Dark Seeker Saga.” The game continues the story of Sora, along with his companions Donald Duck and Goofy, as they embark on a journey to defeat Organization XIII—a group of hooded, mysterious beings who threaten to plunge the worlds into darkness.

You control Sora as he explores various Disney and Final Fantasy related worlds, battling enemies known as Shadows and Nobodies. A new feature in this game is Formchange, which allows Sora to transform his Keyblades into a variety of weapons, each with unique abilities and attacks.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Gameplay

Image

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the third main installment in the KH series and continues the tradition of the series' signature hack-and-slash combat mixed with RPG elements within various worlds inspired by Disney and Final Fantasy properties, including settings based on Toy Story and Frozen.

In combat, players guide Sora through real-time battles against enemies like the iconic Heartless and Nobodies, using the Command Menu to execute attacks, magic (such as Fire and Blizzard), and team-based attacks triggered by triangle prompts.

New mechanics add depth to the combat system, such as the Attraction Flow, where Sora can summon theme park-inspired rides during certain moments in battle. Additionally, Sora’s Keyblades feature a new ability called Formchange, allowing him to transform them into various weapons, each with unique abilities and attacks. Sora can now wield up to three Keyblades at once, expanding his combat options.

While Donald and Goofy are always by Sora’s side, he can also team up with other Disney and Final Fantasy characters that he meets in the different worlds. Outside of combat, players can engage in side activities, such as creating and customizing Gummi Ships or participating in mini-games like cooking with Remy from Ratatouille.
