Enter the Gungeon 2 Overview
Enter the Gungeon 2 is an upcoming roguelike action game developed by Dodge Roll and published by Devolver Digital. It serves as the sequel to Enter the Gungeon (2016) and continues the series’ tradition of bullet hell dungeon crawling, while moving from a 2D pixel-art style to a full 3D graphical presentation. The game was announced on April 2, 2025, during a Nintendo Switch 2 Direct broadcast, with a targeted release window in 2026 for PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
Players once again enter the Gungeon—a constantly shifting, trap-filled fortress brimming with enemies known as the Gundead. Returning and new Gungeoneers are playable, and the game features expanded item combinations, weapons, passive upgrades, and environmental hazards. While the game retains the original’s meta tone and lore, it also introduces a new structure centered around rescuing and extracting stranded characters, hinting at larger narrative stakes.
