Endless Legend 2 Overview
Endless Legend 2 is the latest entry into the fantasy-strategy series, preceded by Endless Legend. Slated for release in early access on September 22, 2025, the game allows players to command unique factions, all vying for power and influence within the new ocean planet on which Endless Legend 2 is set.
Like the previous title in the franchise, Endless Legend 2 has players create empires to explore and expand into the world. Uncover the secrets of the planet as oceans recede and expose new lands with new opportunities, gradually leading you closer to discovering the mystery hidden under the seas of this world.
Endless Legend 2 Gameplay
Similar to other games in the genre, Endless Legend 2 has gameplay focused on turn-based strategy, benefiting players who like to take their time and plan out their moves. City planning and building are central to the game, with the district system from the first Endless Legend game making a return. How you build your settlements and expand your empire will be crucial to the amount of resources you can accrue, like dust– used to purchase and maintain units, infrastructure, and items, and influence– used for empire policies and diplomatic interaction.
A key mechanic of Endless Legend 2 is the tidefalls, an event where the sea retracts, exposing new land to expand to, as well as fight over in search of greater power. The tidefalls will not damage your territory, but they will open up new paths for hostile factions to try and sabotage your empire through newly formed land bridges or paths. Heroes make a return in Endless Legend 2 as powerful units that can be enhanced throughout the game. Give them items, complete quests, and have them command your armies to lead you to victory. The game also provides unique factions, each with its playstyle and aesthetic that you can take control of. Choose to either be a conqueror, a diplomat to the minor factions scattered throughout the map, or even a ravenous beast that consumes all.
