Digimon Alysion Overview
Digimon Alysion is an upcoming free-to-play digital trading card game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, announced during Digimon Con 2025. Set to release on iOS and Android platforms, it serves as a mobile adaptation of the physical Digimon Card Game introduced in 2020.
Alysion is set in the same fictional universe as the online comic Digimon Liberator, where characters like Kanata Hondo and her online friend Futre guide players into T.A.L.E. full-dive VR metaverse spaces such as LACUNA to participate in the card game world. The story is expected to introduce original characters—including Kanata’s Digimon partner Gemmon and other companions like Valner Dragnogh and Renamon—and unfold through a narrative-driven campaign fueled by card battles with 3D cinematic sequences and Tamagotchi-style Digimon raising mechanics.
Gameplay closely mirrors the existing Digimon Card Game rules. It is expected to deliver a digital version of existing cards, known as "DigiAly," alongside mobile-exclusive cards and characters. Like other online card games before it, the game features online matchmaking, deck-building, mechanics, and animated effects during battles. Additionally, players can raise virtual Digimon partners, incorporating elements reminiscent of its Tamagotchi-style pet-simulation roots.

Digimon Alysion Gameplay
Digimon Alysion adapts the physical Digimon Card Game into a digital format. Players can build and customize decks featuring various Digimon characters. Matches are conducted in a one-on-one format, where players deploy Digimon to battle against their opponents’ creatures. A distinctive aspect of the Digimon Card Game that may be employed here is its use of a Memory meter as a shared resource system, which dictates the flow of turns and the execution of actions.
In addition to traditional card battles, Digimon Alysion introduces new, mobile-exclusive cards and characters. The game also incorporates elements of Digimon raising, reminiscent of Tamagotchi-style virtual pets, which allows players to nurture their Digimon partners.
