As Pride Month commences, Overwatch 2 will be joining the celebration by waving the Pride flag high. The game's developers are embracing and championing the importance of identity and diversity by introducing a range of Pride-themed cosmetics.

In a heartfelt blog post, the Overwatch team expressed their commitment to fostering an inclusive and accepting environment within the game. They highlighted the profound influence Overwatch has had on players and team members, many of whom have been empowered and inspired to embrace their true selves by the game's representation of various identities.

Beginning on June 1, players logging into Overwatch 2 will be greeted with an extensive collection of profile player icons and name cards that celebrate the diverse tapestry of identities within the game's community. Each name card corresponds to a specific hero and their identity within the LGBTQ+ spectrum.

For example, Tracer, one of the game's beloved heroes, will have a name card representing her identification as a lesbian. Similarly, Soldier: 76 will be described with a name card symbolizing his gay identity. Lifeweaver will have a name card reflecting their pansexuality, while both Baptiste and Pharah will receive name cards representing their identification as bisexual and lesbian, respectively.

Introducing these Pride-themed cosmetics is just one part of Overwatch 2's commitment to inclusivity during Pride Month. Additionally, the game will release a brand-new short story entitled, 'As You Are' which focuses on Baptiste and Phara's identities, further exploring their backgrounds and personal journeys.

Beyond the cosmetic additions, Overwatch 2 players will also enjoy an updated Midtown map throughout June. Set immediately after a vibrant Pride parade, this revamped map will immerse players in the joyful atmosphere of the celebration. Watchpoint: Gibraltar, another map in the game, will also feature a new photo displayed in the barracks, showcasing Tracer and her partner, Emily. This iconic image will also be available as a new spray for players to equip for Tracer.
