Capcom's forecast, announced today, showed an increase in net sales by 8.9% to 152,400 million yen (approx. $979 million) and an increase in net income by 8.3% to 43,300 million yen (approx. $278 million). The company also revised its dividend forecast for the same fiscal year, raising the net income from 40 to 43.3 million yen. For the full-year dividend, Capcom anticipates 70 yen per share.

Capcom attributed the positive forecast revision to growing profits from catalog titles, with particular mention of the "favorable" performance of Dragon’s Dogma 2, which launched in March this year. Following its release, the game attracted over 200k concurrent players on Steam, eclipsing its predecessor.

Despite initial negative feedback from players, namely performance issues and FPS drops on PC likewise noted on the PS5 in our review, the game saw significant success. Dragon's Dogma 2 surpassed player records of other recent popular Capcom titles on Steam, such as Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 5, and became one of Capcom's largest PC releases to date, along with Monster Hunter World.

According to Capcom's latest updates, Dragon's Dogma 2 has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide, contributing to the cumulative sale of the Dragon’s Dogma series, which now exceeds 10 million units. Meanwhile, the 2023 release Street Fighter 6 has recorded over 3 million unit sales.

With strong performance in the first half of the fiscal year, Capcom is on track to achieve its 11th consecutive year of operating income growth. Capcom's continued success has positioned it as the 88th richest company in Japan. This success has allowed Capcom to buck the industry-wide layoffs trend and, instead, recently increase its salaries for employees.
