Kieran Might Be Blueberry League's Champion

Image
Based on the hints provided by the game, we have a sneaking suspicion that Kieran, the charming, frizzly-haired dude with an adorable Dipplin, might be the League Champion that stands on top of Blueberry League's Elite Four. We have a few reasons for this.

Distinct Uniform Design

Image

Unlike the standard uniforms of everybody present in Blueberry Academy, Kieran's uniform has a unique design with lapels on it. This is already quite a big hint. Penny from Pokémon S&V's Starfall Street storyline is a very recent example of a major role provided to a character with a non-standard uniform. While having a memorable name comes with the identity, Kieran's role is sure to not end with just being the main protagonist's friendly rival.

An Ace With Potential For Growth

Image

Kieran's ace Pokémon, Dipplin, holds an Eviolite. This is an item that increases the Defense and Special Defense of the Pokémon holding it by 50%. However, it only works if its user isn't fully evolved. While Dipplin is currently unable to evolve, it does have a second evolution assigned to a blank index number 1013. This hints that, similar to your many rivals in previous Pokémon titles, Kieran's team will still get even stronger down the line and potentially stand at the top of their region's Elite Four.

Notable Drive To Become Stronger

Image

Similar to many of your rivals in previous Pokémon games, Kieran displays an intense desire to become stronger. As the Teal Mask DLC ends on this particular cliffhanger, it seems obvious that the subsequent installment would focus on this as its main plot or ultimate destination. It also makes sense time-wise, as the Indigo Disk DLC is post-game content. It requires players to finish The Way Home, Pokémon S&V's fourth arc set after its Victory Road, Starfall Street and Path of Legends storylines, before being accessible. Before then, Kieran's team is set at ~Lv35+, which matches the levels of the 5th or 6th Gym Leader you challenge. This also means that his team will reach post-game levels during the Indigo Disk DLC.

Peach Pokémon Teased In Teal Mask Parallels Ogerpon

The Loyal Three has a hidden fourth member with a Pokémon Resembling a Peach. This has a thematic significance to it, as it mirrors the story of Momotaro (桃太郎, Peach Boy) who, in Japanese Folklore, fought against a band of oni, Japanese ogres. With Kieran's wish to get stronger, this may mirror the events that transpired with the Loyal Three, who also have had their wishes granted.

These four clues provide us enough to think that Kieran might be the Blueberry League's Champion upon the Indigo Disk's release. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but regardless, we're quite excited to find out.
