Palworld Story Plot
Palworld isn’t a story-driven game. However, it has story elements littered throughout Palpagos Island where the game takes place. There are even faction leaders that you could have various interactions with, particularly the hostile kind.
The game unfolds on the Palpagos Island, a strange land where curious creatures known as "Pals" roam freely. But after it was discovered, numerous factions have occupied the land and started to exploit its resources and creatures.
Players take control of an explorer who finds themselves washed up on shore following a shipwreck. To survive in this unfamiliar land full of ambitious cliques, players must rely on the unique Pals that inhabit the island.
Palworld Gameplay
Palworld seamlessly combines the third-person shooter experience with monster hunting and base management. Players can wield a wide array of armaments ranging from cold weapons such as spears and bows to modern hot weapons such as assault rifles and missile launchers. In fact, it’s even possible to arm your Pals with these weapons.
Similar to Pokemon, capturing a Pal involves weakening them through battle and then throwing a Sphere at them. The chances of capturing them is raised as their health drops. They can then be used in battle, aiding the player using their unique abilities.
Base-Building
Players can construct all sorts of things to develop the land according to their preferences. Houses and huts can be built, wells can be dug, and furniture can be crafted. Even more modern equipment, such as conveyor belts and terminals, can be created with the help of your Pals.
Depending on the Pal’s characteristics, they are able to perform various tasks at different proficiency levels. For example, some may be great at helping you at farming, but not at collecting items. Their efficiency is also influenced by how you treat them. If you provide them with enough food, rest, and a good working environment, they will be able to assist you better.
Multiplayer
Palworld can support up to four players for a shared adventure in an open-world setting. This is not a strictly cooperative experience, as the game also allows hostilities between each other. This can range from attacking a fellow player, to stealing their items, and even their pals. Players can also engage in friendly (or otherwise) Pal battles. The game also allows you to create dedicated servers that can support up to 32 people. However, PvP will not be supported on the initial release.
Unfortunately, the game won’t support crossplay between its PC and Xbox versions at initial release. This includes its incapability to have lobbies between those using the PC Game Pass and Steam versions. The developers are working to make crossplay a possibility.

Palworld’s latest trailer is a collection of previously-showcased clips to make way for their Early Access release date announcement. It also only mentioned wishlisting to be available on Steam, without any hint of an Xbox release. But considering that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC, it’s surely coming there as well.
