Everything We Know About Project 2/3
Project 2/3 Story Plot
Jump into various eras and dimensions as Verthandi, guided by your partner Theseus. Shifting between 2D and 3D worlds, you’ll encounter diverse allies and battle formidable foes as you uncover the root of chaos threatening reality. Along the way, the story unfolds around learning hidden truths about both your character’s past and the interconnected worlds, culminating in a quest to rewrite history itself.
Not much is known about how the story will play out, but as with many other gacha games, players will likely progress through the game by completing story-driven quests in various cities and areas.
Project 2/3 Setting
Flora
Similar to other gacha games, Project 2/3 will likely have multiple areas for players to visit. One such area is Flora, the "floating city," Flora hovers high above the ground, a place where the Florans have adapted to life in the clouds. Here, vast skies serve as oceans, and Florans navigate this "Sea of Clouds" with grace and ease.
Yet, despite the allure, there is a palpable tension—a deep-seated unease tied to an ancient truth that "God has slept." This belief shadows the Florans’ otherwise idyllic life, reflected in a towering temple on Flora’s highest peak that acts as a center for faith but also subtly reinforces their collective anxiety about the state of their city.
Project 2/3 Characters
Although the game’s 7-minute promotional video introduces many of the characters’ quirky personalities, not much else is known about them outside of it and their names. However, as Project 2/3 is likely a gacha game, players may potentially obtain them all, provided they are fortunate enough to be pitied by the Gacha Gods and pull them successfully.
Below is a list of the characters in Project 2/3 whose names are currently known.
⚫︎ Verthandi
⚫︎ Theseus
⚫︎ Rossana

Project 2/3 Gameplay
Based on the game’s promotional video, Project 2/3 appears to borrow many gameplay elements from other popular titles to its advantage. Exploration mechanics, for instance, seem reminiscent of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, offering players the freedom to explore cities, interact with NPCs, uncover secrets, participate in various mini-games, and so on. One such mini-game involves transforming into a 2D sprite and navigating through a pipeline, à la Mario Bros.
However, the game diverges from these familiar elements by introducing on-rails sections. In these segments, the player character, Verthandi, soars through the skies or rides a hoverboard in high-speed pursuits. These sequences transition into an on-rails gameplay, where players must correctly time their inputs in Quick-Time Events (QTE) to progress through the action.
There are also segments wherein traversal in the game is akin to Gravity Rush, as players explore the city upside down and sideways, seemingly defying gravity as they jump from rooftop to rooftop.
Combat, however, resembles Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Impact 3rd, where players must defeat hordes of enemies using special abilities and ultimate attacks. Effective combos are crucial in these games, so it is essential for players to frequently switch between their Damage Dealers, Sub-Damage Dealers, and Support characters to maximize damage output.
Based on the game's promotional video, certain attacks seem to have elemental attributes. While it's unclear whether elemental reactions will occur when different elements interact, the promotional video suggests that specific elements may be advantageous against certain enemies.
Aside from being fearsome enemies that players must defeat, strategies beyond button-mashing are required. These bosses often have an additional bar beneath their health bar. Depleting this bar through specific actions triggers a "Full Chain," where the four party members unleash a rapid series of attacks that deal massive amounts of damage.
For players seeking a more relaxed experience, it appears that the game will offer a hub-like world that can be customized to their liking, reminiscent of Honkai: Impact 3rd’s Dormitory or Reverse: 1999’s Wilderness. Here, players can place furniture, build houses, and even create farms, concert venues, transportation systems, and more. The promotional video even hints at dynamic events within this world, such as enemy invasions that the player can thwart. Interestingly, defeated enemies seem to become subjects of player experimentation.
Recommend the game to:
⚫︎ People who like a Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Wuthering Waves, etc.
⚫︎ People who like gacha games
⚫︎ People who want open-world gameplay in their gacha games
⚫︎ People who enjoy anime-style aesthetics
