Pokémon Champions Gameplay

Pokémon Champions centers exclusively on Pokémon battles. It utilizes established mechanics such as Pokémon types, abilities, and moves and is expected to be an official way for competitive Pokémon players to test team compositions and strategies. While the full extent of Pokémon Champions’ features is still under development, the game’s website does mention a Ranked and Casual Mode.
It will also integrate Pokémon Home, so players can simply import their Pokémon from titles such as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as well as Pokémon GO. There are restrictions, however; not all Pokémon will be transferable to Pokémon Champions, and those obtained within the game cannot be transferred back to Pokémon Home.
Recruiting Your Team

Pokémon Champions has players recruiting their own line-up of Pokémon using in-game currencies instead of the usual gameplay loop of finding them in the wild and capturing them using a Pokéball. Different Pokémon have different prices, although it hasn't been elaborated so far how players can attain the in-game currency required to recruit them.
Pokémon Battles

Pokémon Champions focuses solely on the Pokémon battle system, allowing players to choose from ranked and casual gameplay modes as well as private matches between friends and specific trainers. Single and Double battles have been confirmed as main battle modes.
Training Your Combatants

Pokémon Champions allows players to level up their team through a special training mechanic, which lets players kit out their Pokémon with specific moves, as well as pump up specific stats using particular training regimen with corresponding intensities.
Pokémon Champions Story Plot

Similar to Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Champions emphasizes competitive, multiplayer battles, diverging from the story-driven experiences typical of mainline Pokémon games. The game’s focus is on online, cross-platform play with ranked and casual battle modes. While there's potential for future updates to introduce new content, including story elements, the game’s primary appeal lies in its battle mechanics rather than an expansive narrative.
