Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance brings us back to the storied lands of Linerea, where a most unusual alliance between the lands’ finest warriors and their former adversaries, the Dark Army, is underway. Threatened by the power of a common foe, both the forces of good and the legions of evil must set aside their differences and stand together as one. With new heroes and towers at their disposal, this unusual alliance may just stand against the encroaching threat.
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD Gameplay
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance’s gameplay is pretty much the same as all other games in Ironhide Studios’ Kingdom Rush series. Players place various towers around a mostly static map to fight back an unrelenting wave of enemies. Each tower has its own strategic benefits and downsides, and a careful understanding of proper tower placement is key to a successful defense.
Players are also given control of a hero, a powerful unit that can traverse the map freely and unleash devastating effects on the battlefield after a set cooldown. Heroes and towers can be upgraded as the player earns resources from fallen enemies, unlocking better stats and new effects.
With these basic mechanics in mind, Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance introduces a whole new cast of heroes to choose from, as well as the new option to take up to two heroes per stage instead of the usual one. Not only does this open up new strategic avenues for tougher stages, but it also grants the player unparalleled coverage of the battlefield.
Brand new towers are also available, now combining the architecture and special abilities of the Lineran Forces and the Dark Army into a catalog of 15 unique options, including the classic arrow, mage, and cannon tower combo from previous games.
