Haunted Chocolatier Gameplay
Haunted Chocolatier is said to be more of an action-RPG with more focus on combat than the management or farming simulation elements found in Stardew Valley. Though a major aspect will be the player living within a haunted castle, collecting ingredients, making chocolate, and managing a chocolate shop.
The gameplay will evolve more as development progresses, so all we can do is wait for the future as the game reveals more of its secrets!
Haunted Chocolatier Story Plot
Not much yet has been revealed of Haunted Chocolatier’s story, but as revealed by ConcernedApe himself on his website, he cites the similarities to Stardew Valley, wherein you’re a new person moving into town and start befriending the locals. However, the major difference is that you will be living within a giant haunted house, and will be working as a chocolatier selling sweets to the locals!
From the early trailers, it looks like the narrative will be concerned with more of the haunted, fantastical, occult theme and not the grounded whimsy of Stardew Valley. However, even with the ‘dark’ aspects, he ConcernedApe still reassures that the game will still be "positive, uplifting, and life-affirming."
Speaking of, he has also stated that he cannot confirm anything regarding the relationship between the two games in terms of being set in the same universe as of yet.
