FOUNDRY Story Plot

FOUNDRY’s story and premise seem to be rather simple, as is befitting a factory automation game. Your goal in this game is to explore an unknown alien planet and build massive automated factories with the help of an AI companion named Carl and your other robot buddies.

You’ll be given complete freedom with where you explore and how you’ll approach the monumental logistic and engineering task of creating the perfect factory.

FOUNDRY Gameplay

FOUNDRY shares a lot of its gameplay features with another first-person factory automation game called Satisfactory, especially with its snaking conveyors, modular construction, and focus on logistical engineering.

What sets FOUNDRY apart is its voxel-based world, which is also procedurally generated to allow nigh-infinite replayability. The game also includes a grid-based building system for maximum efficiency when laying out your factory complex.

It’s currently unclear what the true extent of the game’s exploration and combat mechanics will be like—if it even has one—but if the procedural world generation and trailers are to be believed, more could be coming after the game’s early access release.
