Emio Story Plot
Much has yet to be revealed as to who or even what Emio is, but all we can surmise from the released teasers is that they’re the Smiling Man. The Smiling Man is a famous ‘copypasta’ from decades ago where a man recounts being confronted and chased by a man with a contorted, unnatural face during a night walk. However, the teaser images are all of a masked man.
Meanwhile, in the game’s Australian teaser, it has been rated MA 15+ and Restricted 13 for the following reasons:

⚫︎ Domestic Abuse
These are certainly very mature themes for what looks to become a first-party game developed by Nintendo.
Emio Gameplay
Little is known about what kind of gameplay Emio is to have, but from the teasers, it could very well be Emio starring as the main antagonist chasing players in a horror-survival game akin to the old Silent Hill or Fatal Frame games.
