Crab God Story Plot
The Great Migration is here and the next Crab God, your successor, must be brought to the depths for them to hatch and restart the cycle anew. But many trials await you in your journey, and it’ll be up to your guidance as Guardian of the Abyss to lead your crablings and see this migration through.
Rebuild reefs, ward off threats, and collect food for you and your progeny as you venture forth to hatch the next Crab God.
Crab God Gameplay
Despite its atmospheric look, Crab God is a sidescroller colony management simulator with some tower defense elements similar to Kingdom and Kingdom: Two Crowns. You play as the titular Crab God, towering over your crabling subjects as you assign them into roles, give them instructions, and level them up at every leg of your migration.
This is all done to ascend your successor, the next Crab God, which can only be achieved by migrating to the deepest part of the ocean. This migration is represented by an ever-descending branching path with various levels requiring different goals to finish.
Generally, your goal is to gather food and defend your egg from encroaching wildlife. You do so by assigning your crablings into various roles and telling them what to do. Food is gained by planting seaweed and attracting sea life into your reef while defending the egg is accomplished by building walls and assigning crablings to specific professions.
At the end of every level, all your crablings gain experience and are fed, allowing them to level up and gain additional perks every time. These perks make them more effective at their job and have various additional effects chosen randomly.
